Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.

These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

A young child was one of the people hurt in the event. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – led to train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
