British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
